Attendance Policy

The following attendance policy will be observed throughout the quarter. Any exceptions must be worked out individually with the instructor.
  • You will receive credit for attending if you are present for any portion of the class period. Participation points will be awarded based on the actual amount of time you spend in class.
  • If you will be arriving late, please send a text message to me (360-399-6115) to ensure that you are not prematurely marked absent.
  • If you need to leave class early, please let me know beforehand.
  • If you are going to miss a class, please let me know in advance so that I can make alternate arrangements for you.
    • If prior arrangements are made and the required work is submitted, you will receive full credit for a missed class.
    • Failure to notify me in advance of an absence will result in the loss of all participation points for the missed class.
In-Class Activities
Attendance during our normally scheduled class periods is strong encouraged. If you miss a class session, you will forfeit the benefit of interacting with the instructor and your fellow students even if you make arrangements with the instructor to make up missed assignments.

Other Issues
  • Please be respectful and whisper quietly when conducting sidebar conversations with other students during class.
  • Cell phones should be set to vibrate while class is in session.
